Any thoughts on this one
Article excerpt: "Pills seized inside Prince's Paisley Park compound by investigators were labeled as hydrocodone but actually contained fentanyl -- the drug that killed the singer -- according to a source with knowledge of the investigation who revealed the information to theMinneapolis Star Tribune.

The revelation gives more insight into what may have caused Prince's overdose. There are two likely possibilities: Either a pharmaceutical manufacturer mislabeled the pills, or the pills were illegally manufactured and obtained illegally.

However, according to the Star Tribune, investigators are working under the theory that the pop star did not know the pills contained fentanyl. Prince died on April 21 from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, according to the Medical Examiner.

If the manufacturer mislabeled the pills, there would have likely been a recall as fentanyl is an extremely potent opioid medication and a controlled substance. It would be a serious health hazard if a batch was mislabeled and given to the public.

Fentanyl is 50 times more potent than heroin and up to 100 times more potent than morphine.

Investigators have not said whether Prince ingested those pills or whether he knew the pills contained fentanyl.

Powerful painkiller

At the beginning of the investigation into Prince's death, sources told CNN that painkillers were found inside his Paisley Park compound and they could not find a valid prescription for the medication. The Star Tribune now reports that their source said no prescription for fentanyl has been found in the months since Prince's death. So, a burning question remains. How did Prince acquire the drug?

Fentanyl, the most powerful painkiller on the market, is normally prescribed to cancer patients in extreme pain. It's also used to ease the pain of someone who is dying or as part of anesthesia during surgery.

But illegally manufactured fentanyl pills are readily available across America.

How dangerous is Fentanyl?

Just last month, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) published a reportsaying counterfeit pills are fueling the fentanyl and heroin/opioid crisis in the US, which has become an epidemic. The DEA issued a national health alert over the rise in fentanyl overdoses in 2015. That year, the DEA said its National Forensic Laboratory Information System showed "there were approximately eight times as many fentanyl exhibits (confiscated drugs that tested positive for fentanyl) in 2015 as there were during the 2006 fentanyl crisis, clearly demonstrating the unprecedented threat and expansion of the fentanyl market."

Prince's death at 57 years old shocked the world. For months fans mourned the musical genius by showing up by the hundreds to pay their respects. Many left purple mementos on the fence that surrounds the Paisley Park Compound where Prince died.

He was discovered dead inside of an elevator in the complex.

Dosage would have killed anyone

Officials never revealed the amount of fentanyl that was in Prince's system. But the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that a source says the amount of fentanyl in his system was so high it would have killed anyone, no matter their size.

It has been four months since Prince died and the investigation into his death is still ongoing. The DEA began working the case along side the Carver County Sheriff's office from the very early stages. But no one knows exactly why Prince was taking strong painkillers or how he obtained them."

The 1st thing that jumps out to me is the "source" of the article is pushing the idea that Prince was not a drug addict but somehow took or was given Fentanyl by accident. Stating that the pills were mislabeled giving him the benefit of the doubt that he took the pills as the Press release said "accidentally". Clearing Prince of the drug addict label which doesn't fit his M.O. (Modus Operandi meaning Mode of Operation: a particular way or method of doing something, especially one that is characteristic or well-established.) I.E many people friends and " fans" don't believe he was a drug addict or took prescription drugs at all.

Also the media has been implying that Prince may have died due to his petite size. Although he joked about being petite, Prince didn't like people going in on him (meticulously teasing him) as being "too" small, because he was not. He was capable of doing anything a much taller person can do including play Basketball.

By stating "the amount of fentanyl in his system was so high it would have killed anyone, no matter their size." This disproves the hypothesis Prince died because he was "little".

Whomever the "source" is, they are being fairly respectfully of how Prince may have wanted to be viewed in life. Not a drug addict, and not too petite.

The accidental drug overdose also lends credit to the theories of being murdered by the system.

If this is a Death Hoax, a Faked Death I have thought that Prince would be the Master mind behind it all.

The Press have implied he was so petite because he was starving himself, a drug addict, frail, weak and or had HIV/AIDS. It has also been implied that he died due to the fentanyl dosage being too high for a person his size. However in many cultures Prince is average size for an adult male. Perhaps due to his genetics and work ethic 5" 2 and 114-112 pounds may have been his personal average.

The articles says "Dosage would have killed anyone. Officials never revealed the amount of fentanyl that was in Prince's system. But the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that a source says the amount of fentanyl in his system was so high it would have killed anyone, no matter their size."

Why the focus on dispelling rumors on his size being a contributing factor? Why not focus more on dispelling the HIV/AIDS rumor?

Tatiana Thumbtzen on Prince:
"He started it out by saying "You know, when I was little... Well, I'm still little..." Before he could finish, I started laughing so hard. I thought I was going to bust a gut from laughing so hard. I thought it was great that he could joke and laugh at himself and make light of his small frame.

I thought it was cool for a few seconds anyway. Suddenly, I stopped laughing because of this expression on his face. There was immediate silence. He had this look on his face as to say" I can make fun of myself but you cannot."

Perhaps the "source" knew Prince well or is being coached by someone on what rumors to focus on disproving.

It is logical that there is no death hoax and Prince may not behind anything. Still why all the mystery? No official death certificate, no official autopsy report just a press release. No one participated in viewing of the body. Plus a ton of misinformation and hearsay on the part of the press. What are we left to think?

The "source with knowledge of the investigation who revealed the information to the Minneapolis Star Tribune " may be simply attempting to clear the artist's name.

The Press hasn't shown the singer in his "death" in a positive light. The Media has claimed he committed suicide, was an illicit and or prescription drug addict. As well as claiming his petite size was due to his being a late stage AIDS patient. Although the press release concerning an autopsy report didn't say much it didn't "list any other cause of death or "significant condition" such as Cancer or HIV/AIDS.

Overdoses on prescriptions meds aren't usually listed as accidental. Why is his? How was death by "accidental overdose" determined. Is there no evidence of prior med use until that day? Well there is no Autopsy Report to look at just a press release that doesn't say much.

Perhaps the mysterious "source with knowledge of the investigation who revealed the information to the Minneapolis Star Tribune " wanted to give Prince the benefit of the doubt.
Causing those with curious minds already questioning the official story to look closer. Perhaps Minneapolis Star Tribune is the only press outlet willing to print that there is undisclosed evidence that their most famous native son may not have "died" in the manner the press was saying.

The article states Fentanyl was found in a bottle labeled Hydrocodone.
Hydrocodone is most often found combined with Acetaminophen. Which I believe is found in medication to relieve symptoms of not only pain but cold and fever.

Prince was said before his "death" to be suffering from prolonged flu like symptoms.

Hydrocodone:"Relief of moderate to moderately-severe pain. Has been used as an antitussive (cough suppressant: an effect of the hydrocodone component) and is as effective and possibly a more potent antitussive than codeine. Hydrocodone is a centrally acting analgesic used to provide additive pain relief when non-narcotic analgesics are ineffective. Acetaminophen (abbreviated APAP) is a peripherally acting analgesic agent found in many combination products and also available by itself.

APAP is also an antipyretic (fever lowering) agent. This combination product emphasizes a commonly overlooked principal in pain management."

Killed by Fentanyl that was found in a bottle labeled Hydrocodone?

I've read comments on the old site and other pages stating that Prince was being poisoned.

Does the mistaking Fentanyl for Hydrocodone statement support that theory?

Or does it support the theory that he was murdered and the drugs planted around the house?

Does this support the theories he faked his death?

This story is so out of order what are logical people with questions supposed to think?

I don't know what to think about this source cuz there seems to be more bullshit added to the story like "Prince was wearing a black shirt and pants — both were on backward — and his socks were inside-out, according to a source familiar with the case". The StarTribune article seems like another attemt to convince us that the overdose story is real and his "death" was an terrible accident.  However the story is so messed up at this point that I think it's made up, everyone of Prince's family members and friends seems  to be directed what to say and do and we haven't seen any full official autopsy report so there's no evidence that he really is dead. It seems planned cuz they keep adding more parts to the story every week or month in order to brainwash us. Once again they mention that his body was found about 9:40 a.m. but Ted Haller (Fox 9 minneapolis) tweeted at 9.07 am that Carver County responded to medical call at Paisley Park

Right!?
It's like some team of people are reading everyone's criticisms and questions and adding more dog poop to the pile to try and answer it.

Like they didn't have time to get their stories straight so they are just winging it! Trying to fill in the holes in the logic with more B.S.

Perhaps we are witnessing a disinformation war.

and if this source want's to clear Prince's name, why do it now 4 months later when the press has done enough harm and made ppl believe that Prince was a another drug addict. So I think ur right, they're trying to fill in the holes in this story but the thing is that they only make it worse by doing this.It creates more confusion and makes people upset and suspicious. And here we are 4 months later with even more questions and the fans has still has no closure. I'm convinced its a hoax but it should have been handled better, they shouldn't have been so sloppy with details

"Disinformation is a type of untrue communication that is purposefully spread and represented as truth to elicit some response that serves the perpetrator's purpose.

Disinformation is sometimes confused with misinformation but the two are distinguished by their intention. The purpose of disinformation is to deceive. Although misinformation is also false, it is  presented as truth only because the communicator does not have the facts straight."

Full Definition ofdisinformation
:  false information deliberately and often covertly spread (as by the planting of rumors) in order to influence public opinion or obscure the truth
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/disinformation

"The goal was not to destroy the truth, but to hide it in plain sight.

In modern times, and with carefully engineered methods, this goal has for the most part been accomplished. However, these methods also have inherent weaknesses. Lies are fragile. They require constant attentiveness to keep them alive. The exposure of a single truth can rip through an ocean of lies, evaporating it instantly."

You say
"drug addict",
I say
"drug accident"

You say
"Drug O.D"
I say
"Epilepsy"

Like one energy system is playing offense and the other is playing defense. But who is who? What's what? The game of disinformation

Nevermind

it seems more like a collective mind game
the more ppl that believe certain information that comes to light
the story goes that way ...if there is no interest a new story comes about
twists and turns to keep the story going
the question is till what ? or when ? and where ? and why ?

Rainbowblue

Disinformation in my understanding is defined as using chaos or to cover truth. A Game of deception, often played between multiple parties or teams. Propaganda.
The energy systems of truth battling untruths.
With the truth hidden in plan site.
Kinda like "Where's Waldo".
Or Like the game "Clue".
Disinformation in and of it's self, isn't good or bad. Though it can be used for those purposes. It's just a communication technique.

Nevermind

the problem with the mis information is that ppl got lazy
and they are walking around like ostriches with their heads in the sand
rather than using research, knowledge and logic to find the truth

Here is another article
"Mislabeled Pills Found at Prince's Estate Contained Powerful Painkiller Fentanyl: Report"
http://people.com/celebrity/prince-death-invesitgation-pills-in-aleve-bottle-contained-fentanyl/

"Prescription pain pills found hidden in an Aleve bottle at Prince's Paisley Park estate may have been counterfeit drugs that contained the much stronger narcotic fentanyl, according to reports.
At least one of the pills, which were labeled "Watson 385" – indicating that they contained lower-potency mix of acetaminophen and hydrocodone – tested positive for fentanyl, a source close to the investigation told the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
The "Purple Rain" singer may have taken the pills not knowing that they contained the more powerful drug and accidentally overdosed, a source told the Minneapolis Star Tribune."

His death was ruled an accident and the toxicology report we never saw supposedly said he had no history of illicit drugs or pain meds in his system prior to the "accidental overdose". This means that according to the autopsy report he has never taken the these sorts of drugs before... His taking the drugs was a first time, one time and last time thing.

This would lead us to believe he was not an addict but murdered

medea

This story with pills containing fentanyl makes no sense. Fentanyl have very low bioavailability about 33% when ingested, compared with hydrocodone - over 90%. It means that he couldn't poison himself with only one pill, how much fentanyl one pill can contain? And if more than one pill is ingested how authorities can states than it is accident and they would know if pills are discovered in stomach. Why noone tell nothing about this? No sense at all.

I agree Rainbowblue and if Prince has really passed then I believe it would be murder.
But I think the reason that many are talking about medication addiction or dependency is thanks to TMZ.
The incident on the plane on April 15 was put down to dehydration from the flu by all media before April 21, but the second the news of Princes death broke, TMZ 'revealed' that Prince was actually treated for an overdose on the plane.
That bogus article has fuelled people's beliefs that Prince was addicted or dependant on mediation.
